Facilities

 

In order to provide a good academic   environment for the students,
care has been taken to
create proper infrastructure such as well-furnished
lecture  halls, well-equipped laboratories, well-fortified library, a well-
designed computer center and a good central instrumentation room etc..

 

 Laboratories

The institute has created good infrastructure which includes ten well-equipped laboratories for U.G. programme exclusively, and eight laboratories for P.G. programmes. All the laboratories have been provided with required equipment such ovens, B.O.D. incubators, autoclave, centrifuges, laboratory-wares, glass-ware and adequate chemicals for smooth conduct of the practicals.  


 

 

 Instrumentation Room

An instrument room with sophisticated analytical tools such as H.P.L.C. with gradient system and UV and fluorimetric detectors, three UV-Visible Spectrophotometers, Brookfield Viscometer, three Dissolution test apparatus including a 8-Stage apparatus, Trinocular microscope, Rotary flash evaporator, Karl Fisher apparatus, PCR etc have been provided. Some more instruments would be included to strengthen research activities.


 

Machine room

A spadscious well-designed machine room has been established having a pilot scale tablet division with GMP model. There are total five tablet compression machines, including two rotary machines in the institute. Other machines include capsule filling machine (PAM), ampoule filling and sealing machine etc. Quality Control testing machines such as hardness (Pfizer) tester, Roche friabilator, Disintegrating Test apparatus and Dissolution Testing apparatus have been arranged.

Lecture Halls

                   Spacious and well-furnished class-rooms / lecture halls with modern  teaching aids such as OHP, LCD etc. have been provided.

Museum

  A Pharma museum, displaying various photographs of medicinal plants, charts, models, different pharmaceutical dosage forms, packagings, cosmetic preparations, has been arranged.

Library

The institute has provided two state of art libraries, separately for U.G. and P.G. students. More than 9059 volumes of 1393 titles covering all the subjects in pharmaceutical sciences and other basic subjects have been procured. 47 numbers of journals including national and international are subscribed. Reprographic facility is also available in the library.

Computer room

Other major facilities include 20 Pentium 4 Computers in LAN with Internet connectivity has been provided.

Animal House

An animal house registered under CPCSEA is also maintained for   conducting pharmacology experiments.

 Other facilities include a seminar room, auditorium, students common room, indoor games, career counseling and placement cell, cafeteria etc. have been provided.
